And yes, it is learnt not learned (In my British voice) LOL. If you don’t know what I’m talking about – read the title again.

So, I got banned by MailChimp.

Sikes, (HANG MY HEAD IN SHAME).

I did nothing. I mean nothing wrong.

No, I wasn’t sending spam emails.

So, I got banned by MailChimp. And No, I wasn’t sending spam emailsClick To Tweet

And no, I wasn’t emailing a list I imported into MailChimp.

And yes, I was emailing readers that subscribed directly through my blog.

So, a few months ago, I logged into my MailChimp account to send an email to my readers (as you do).

I can’t remember where I was when I opened the email from Sumo, formerly Sumome stating that they recently bought the domain name Sumo.com for 1.5 million dollars.

But I remember what my reaction was.

Here’s how I reacted to the news…

  1. I immediately stopped what I was doing to read the article
  2. I fell out of my chair and broke my leg
  3. I screamed
  4. I cried. Why didn’t I think of registering Sumo.com? I could have been sitting on $1.5 million right now and laughing all the way to the bank

Shoulda. Woulda. Coulda. But I didn’t.

I have been blogging for a very long time and I have made lots of mistakes. Most of the mistakes, I made could have been avoided if I had a mentor or an experienced blogger to help me out when I hit a brick wall.

My vision is to see 1000’s of millennials, discover their purpose and start successful online businesses.

So, I decided to reach out to 11 expert bloggers to share their lessons learned. I asked them to share what they would do differently if they had to re-do their blog business journey all over again. And what they wish someone told them when they first started.

I would like to thank each one of them for taking the time out to help my readers learn more about how to be a better blogger.

Choosing a web hosting provider is one of the most important decisions you will make as a blogger, you really don’t want to mess it up.

I chose the wrong web host for one of my popular blogs, which eventually killed the blog. My blog kept going offline every day and their support staff was clueless. You don’t want that to happen to you.

I did a lot of online research before I found the web hosting company of my dreams lol WebHostingHub. I literally read more than 100 reviews before I decided to go with them.
